Jim was born in Brownwood, Texas on April 14, 1940 to J.D. (Dude) and Ann Brim. He graduated from Brownwood High School in 1958 and was an outstanding member of the football team, playing quarterback and Captain of the team. He attended A& M University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. He served as president of the Saddle & Sirloin Club, member of the Corps of Cadets and then served as assistant county agent in Falls County prior to entering Ranching and feed lot operation in Mills County. He was a Vocational Ag instructor at Brownwood Junior High School and President of Operations for U. S. Oil companies in Dallas, Texas. After the oil bust in the 80s, he and his family moved back to Brownwood, did some oil drilling, got into the cattle and ranching business.
Jim was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Brewer Friendship Class. He served in many capacities and boards. He was a Sunday School teacher throughout the years. He was a man of honor, high integrity, strong beliefs, strong work ethics and had a faithful heart. His handshake and hugs will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and consideration to everyone he met.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, H.C. Chambers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marva Brim; daughter, Marla Uechimia and husband Jimmie and 2 granddaughters, of Los Angeles, California; a sister, Kathryn Newell and husband Phillip of Ballinger, Texas; and a sister-in-law, JoAnn Chambers of May, Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Brown County Youth Fair Assoc., P.O. Box 110, Brownwood, Texas or First United Methodist Church, 2500 11th St. , Brownwood, Tx.
