James Ritchie Orr began his heavenly journey on the afternoon of October 18, 2015 comforted by his loving children. James was 75 years old.
James was born in St. Andrews, Scotland on October 5, 1940 to Robert and Mary Orr.
He spent his early years in Scotland where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. He came to the US at age 24 and went on to receive his Master’s degree from the University of Arizona. He became a professor at Midland College and later moved to Brownwood where he opened his own architecture firm, Orr & Associates Architects, Inc. James designed countless homes and business for local residents. He enjoyed getting to know each of his clients and making their vision come to life. During his long life, James was an active member in the community serving on the vestry of his church and as Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America where he made many life-long friendships. James was also a Master Mason.
James enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling all over the world to admire architecture both natural and man-made.
Meeting James on the other side are his father, Robert Orr, mother, Mary Orr, and wife Cindy Orr.
He leaves behind his sons James Orr and Robert Orr; daughter Jamie Weydeck, her husband, Peter, and granddaughter Emilia. Family members include his brother Robert Orr and his wife Jaki; niece, Heidi Orr; and nephews Scott Orr, Callum Orr and Ross Orr all of Scotland.Please join the family in a memorial service to be held at the Church of Good Shepherd at 11 am on Saturday, October 24, 2015.
