A memorial service for Jackie Carlton Burleson will be Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 10:30 AM in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.
Jackie passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Songbird Lodge in Brownwood.
He was born November 16, 1941 in Slaton, Texas to Joe and Edna Burleson and married Dora Tucker on December 23, 1960 in Slaton. They moved to Anson and later to Lake Brownwood in 2002. Jackie worked for J.H. Strain and Sons Construction Company as a job superintendent for 40 years until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Dora Burleson, daughter Sheri and husband Sam Sandbothe, two sons; Carleton and wife Tammy Burleson and Joe and wife Beverly Burleson, his grandchildren; Aaron Sandbothe and Paige Nicole Burleson, a sister Jo Ann Brummet of California and a niece Carla Wood.
Jackie is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Edna Burleson.
Jackie’s family would like to thank the staff of Brownwood Regional Medical Center, Walker Cancer Center, Songbird Lodge and Solaris Hospice for the care they provided. Also a special thanks to Dr. Daniel Altstatt, Dr. Allen Cass and Dr. Gary Butka.
