The American Southwest Conference today announced the 2010 pre-season football poll and Howard Payne University was picked to finish 7th after a vote by the league’s head coaches, sports information directors and selected media members.
Howard Payne finished tied for 7th last season with at 4-6 overall and 2-6 in ASC play. Howard Payne will return five post-season award winners from last year’s team including 2nd team All-Conference quarterback and HM pre-season All-American, Zach Hubbard.
The Jackets also return 2nd team players LB Dustin McClure and punter Cote Schacherl as well as HM players place kicker Mitchell Bailey and DB Jordan Pfenenger.
Howard Payne opens their season on September 4th in San Antonio versus Trinity University.
