CONWAY, AR – The Howard Payne men’s soccer team was unable to find a way to score and fell 3-0 in non-conference action to Hendrix College Monday evening.
The game was close in almost every statisticly area but the score ended 3-0 in Hendrix College’s favor. Shots 16-15 Hendrix, Corner kicks 5-4 HPU, Fouls 16-12 HPU and Saves 4-4 tie.
Hendrix scored two of goals in the first period (5th and 44th minutes) and secured the game with a third in the 80th minute.
Drew Clanahan got the loss in goal playing all 90 minutes recording four saves. Shay Pate and Chris Thompson led with three shots each for the Jackets.
Howard Payne is now 2-1-1 on the year and will play next at home on September 14th. It will be the conference opener of the Jackets versus the University of Texas – Dallas at 4:00 pm.
