J.M. “Andy” Kohn, 89, of Brownwood, passed away in Brownwood, Thursday July 6, 2017. Funeral services, under the direction of Heartland Funeral & Cremations, will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 8, 2017, at First Baptist Church Early with Eddie Ailshie officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at the funeral home 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday July 7th. “Andy” was born October 2, 1927, in Caddo Mills, Texas to John Edward and Ollie Recie (Smith) Kohn. He join the United States Air Force and served two tours as a Supply Sargent and Communications Officer. “Andy” was the owner of Andy Kohn Firestone in Brownwood 1971-1981 and was known as the “Martian” at Coliseum Sales. He was President of Brownwood Chamber of Commerce & Brownwood Lions Club, an avid golfer, loved baseball, both playing and watching, and loved the Dallas Cowboys. Andy was a Baptist and member of Early First Baptist Church.
“Andy” is survived by daughters, Katrina Kohn and boyfriend Charles LaFountain, Marcie Drew and husband Pat, Nina Cox and husband Brent; grandchildren, Hunter Cox, Mallory Drew, Boone Cox and wife Kaylan, and Conner Drew; brother, Charles David Kohn and wife Vonne of Springtown. He was preceded in death by wife of 59 years, Frances Lucille Lowe Kohn; parents, John Edward and Ollie Recie Kohn; brother, Weldon “Amos” Kohn; sisters, Reitha Kohn Breedlove, Pat Kohn Johnson; and infant son Kohn.
