The 2nd Annual Brownwood Christmas Under the Stars Festival is well underway.  Although many are at the Brownwood Lions playoff game in San Angelo, there are still plenty of people out enjoying some holiday fun.  This year’s festival is being held at Howard Payne University and at the Lehnis Railroad Museum.

There is plenty to do:  make reindeer food, decorate sugar cookies, decorate a pet dish, paint the Christmas Tree Paintball, Holiday flavored snow cones, decorate a giant ginger bread house, decorate ornaments, and even letters to Santa Claus.  There are also booths with great things to purchase such as homemade candy, jewelry, t-shirts and handmade bracelets which support the foreign mission field.

At the Lehnis Railroad Museum there will be the Choo Choo Christmas:  pictures with Santa, mini train rides and the premier of “Buster World”.

Several non-profit groups and clubs are involved with this year’s festival including the Boys & Girls Club, Corinne T. Smith Animal Shelter, Family Services Center, Heart of Texas Baptist Encampment, New Beginnings Church, Latchkey, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Gamma Beta Phi (HPU), Social Work Club (HPU), Students in Free Enterprise (HPU), Student Foundation (HPU), HPU Cheer Squad, Kappa Kappa Psi (HPU), Caring Family Network, Chi Alpha Omega (HPU), HPU Crosslines College Ministry and more.

Performing during the festival are local singers, Amy’s Dance Academy, BISD Choirs, and HPU Ensembles.

Be sure to enjoy the Christmas Under the Stars Festival again Saturday from 4-8pm, especially if you missed the fun on Friday night.  The lighted Christmas Parade will be Saturday night 6:00pm and will travel through the downtown streets.  Many events are free and others are at a low price for everyone to enjoy.

Below are pictures of Friday night’s activities.
