A search and arrest warrant was executed on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 by officers with the Brownwood Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Office in 2100 block of Center Ave. During that search, investigators located a quantity of marijuana and methamphetamine; however the suspect in this narcotic investigation, identified as Jerry Wayne Peel, was not present when the warrant was executed, officials report.
On Thursday, October 6, 2011, Brownwood Narcotics Officer Taylor, acting on information relating to Peel’s whereabouts, arrived in the 600 block of Roanoke. Brownwood patrol officers in the area were able to stop and arrest Peel who was additionally found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and charged with this possession in a drug free zone, stated Fuller.
Officers returned Peel to the residence on Roanoke and were given consent to search the home by the homeowner, the report states. During this search, a small quantity of methamphetamine and illegally obtained prescription medication were recovered, said Fuller. The homeowners were identified as Tara Holland and Joshua McBride. Both were arrested for Possession of Controlled Substances in a Drug Free Zone.
“This investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected,” said Fuller. “The Brownwood Police Department appreciates the cooperation and support from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Early Police Department in our continuing efforts to combat illegal drug activity.”
