Officer Trey Weathermon arrived to assist on this traffic stop and the report states that he determined that Edmondson was driving while intoxicated.   During further investigation, it was determined that Edmondson also left the scene of the accident where he struck a home on LaMonte Street the police report states.  Officers discovered the fence that Edmondson said he had driven through in the area of Sharron and San Benito.

Edmondson was arrested and charged with two counts of Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Driving While Intoxicated.  No injuries were reported.

In an unrelated accident, at approximately 12:23am Thursday morning, Brownwood Police officer Anna Sturgeon was dispatched to the 1000 block of 2nd Street, where a car had crashed into a backyard fence and partially struck a vacant home.  The police report states that the driver fled on foot, leaving his vehicle in gear & running with the lights on.   While investigating the scene, the responding officer was able to locate personal information leading them to the suspect’s home address.

Officer Sky Self went to the address where he found the driver who was identified as 18-year-old Gary Allison III and brought him to the scene of the accident.  The vehicle was found to belong to Allison’s sister.  The police report states that Allison admitted to driving the car at a high rate of speed, losing control of the vehicle, and crashing through a fence at the house.  When officers asked if he had been drinking, Allison said he had consumed about 6 beers and believed he was intoxicated police reports state.

Field sobriety tests were performed on Allison and the 18-year-old was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated as a result of the tests.  Allison was also charged with Failing Duty on Striking Fixture less than $200.
