Motorists traveling on US 84 in southern Brown County will soon notice a smoother ride, thanks to Proposition 1 funds. At its April meeting, the Texas Transportation Commission approved funding for pavement work on US 84 in Brown County between County Road 312 and the Mills County line.
This project will improve road conditions on US 84 by removing and replacing the existing pavement surface. The contract was awarded to Bick’s Construction Inc. out of Fort Worth for $2,342,954.99.
Specific project details such as start time and duration will be determined in the coming weeks but current projections would have work completed in fall 2015.This project is part of the approximately $15 million in Prop 1 funding that the Brownwood District will receive this year.
