A guided “Management Buck Hunt” on Lost Creek Ranch in northwest Brown County, valued at $1,200, is up for bid at the “Empty Bowls” silent auction on November 6, 2009. The event will be held at Brownwood’s Depot and Cultural Center from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sponsored by the Good Samaritan, Empty Bowls is being held to raise money and awareness for hunger needs in the community. Soup will be served all day for $10 per person. Ninety percent of the proceeds from the day will be given to hunger needs in Brownwood, with the remaining ten percent being donated to Heifer International.
Some additional items in the silent auction include a basketball autographed by all of the members of the 2008 NCAA Division III National Champion Lady Jacket basketball team and a weekend at Ranch Cabin, a 1,500 square foot, fully furnished house located in north Brown County on Lost Creek Ranch. Local community members will also be donating paintings, photographs, bowls and more. A live auction will be held toward the end of the day for the larger items.
Businesses and/or individuals interested in donating items for the silent auction can contact the Good Samaritan at 643-2273 or by email at goodsam@bwoodtx.com.
