Ikie J. A. White, age 72, of Brownwood died Thursday morning at the Songbird Lodge Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Friday at the Mud Creek Cemetery near Bangs with Rev. Benny M. Allcorn officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

He was born November 18, 1937 in Brown County the son of the late Charles M. Sr.  and Audie Bush White.  He graduated from the Blanket Schools and had retired from Vulcan Materials (White Mines) where he had worked as an equipment operator for many years.

Ikie had a heart transplant eleven years ago and from that he enjoyed life at its fullest.  He was a very kind and giving person and always had a smile for those he met.  He loved to play the French harp at church and being with his friends and loved ones.

He is survived by his son, Carey Eugene White of San Angelo

A Daughter – Susie Marie Brown of Georgia

His brother – Charles White, Jr. of Brownwood and his wife Bennie

Nieces, Vicky Swafford, Robin Sandifer, Janetta Galloway, and Shirrell Collins

Great Nephews – Zane Smith, Brice Collins, and Levi Collins

He was preceded in death by a son, Ike White Jr. and his parents.

Memorials are requested to be made to the Baylor Heart Transplant Support Organization c/o Baylor Hospital, Dallas, Texas.
