Idos “Ike” Modawell went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 14, 2012 in Brownwood. He was 69 years old. Ike was born on October 13, 1942 in Santa Anna, Texas to Clyde and Ima Lois Spencer Modawell. He graduated from Brownwood High School in 1961 and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad as an Assistant Train Master. Ike was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and shared God’s Word with many people over his lifetime.
Ike is survived by his children, Stephen Modawell and wife, Debbie of Arlington; Kerry Modawell of Allen, Texas; Barry Modawell and wife, Sunni of Brownwood; Wes Modawell and Shana Cabe of Brownwood; and Rhonda Cowan and husband, Delton of Elm Grove. Also left to cherish his memories are his sister, Joyce Kerbow and husband, Robert of Belton, Texas; his brothers, Joe Modawell of Olton, Texas and Bill Modawell and wife, Janice of Brownwood; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Blaylock Funeral Home. A memorial service for Ike Modawell will be held at 4:00 PM on June 16th at the funeral home with Pastor David Barnum officating. A private interment will take place at a later date.
