The Huge Army of Lobbyists that besieges U.S. lawmakers is without parallel anywhere else in the world, ever since recorded history, thousands of years. In China, North Korea, Turkey, Indonesia, Singapore, Germany, England and other “free” countries, a lobbyist would be killed or imprisoned.
Why? Buying influence in a free society is the most blatant form of corruption and bribery of a government official. And Democracy is dead. A citizen no longer has a voice in government because a citizen has no one to vote for the common good. All of this to suggest the voters rise up, en mass, to pass a law that outlaws all forms of donations to candidates for office, but allocating the same sum of money for each candidate for his or her use in running for office. This provides a level playing field for all. Let’s get our government back.When a Senior Pentagon official exaggerates the threat of China, Iran, or Syria it’s probably because certain defense industry firms would benefit from hundreds of billions of dollars of arms contracts.
