HPU Press Release – Howard Payne University’s University Singers would like to encourage music enthusiasts in Brownwood and the surrounding areas to join the group as it prepares for the Christmas concert from Handel’s “Messiah.”

“The Christmas portion of ‘Messiah’ is a timeless and festive work celebrating the birth of our Savior,” said Dr. Rosborough, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities. “Choristers will find this a rewarding and unifying experience for our community.”

HPU’s University Singers is a community and collegiate choral opportunity that presents two concerts per year, one at Christmas and another in the spring. The group’s goal is to cultivate an ensemble of singers within the community and university who strive to offer a high level of artistry while advocating for great choral music.

Rehearsals will be held Monday evenings, 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., beginning August 28 in room 503 of HPU’s Davidson Music Complex.
