The American Southwest Conference today announce the 2013 men’s soccer All-Conference teams and Howard Payne’s Shay Pate, Ryan Young and Jeremy Perkins were honored with places on the list.
Third Team All-Conference – Forward
Shay Pate (pictured above middle) led the Yellow Jackets with seven goals this season, good for eighth overall in the American Southwest Conference. Playing in 17 matches, Shay took 40 shots, 25 on goal for a .625 shot on goal pct. He would record two goals at Pacific University and an assist versus Schreiner University.
Third Team All-Conference – Goal Keeper
Ryan Young (pictured above right) started in goal 12 times for the Jackets this season. He finished fourth in the ASC in saves with 81 and led the ASC in save pct at 6.75 per game. Ryan set a HPU record earlier this season versus Our Lady of the Lake with 18 saves.
Honorable Mention All-Conference – Defender
Jeremy Perkins (pictured above left) started in all 18 games played in this season taking 10 shots as a defender. He is sixth all-time at HPU in career minutes played (4,000) and tied for eighth in games played (56) at Howard Payne.
