The American Southwest Conference today announced its softball players of the week and Howard Payne’s Rebecca McDaniel was honored.
Howard Payne senior third baseman Rebecca McDaniel (Mineral Wells, TX / MWHS) went 7-for-12 with three doubles, a triple, and three RBIs over an ASC West Division series split with Texas Lutheran. McDaniel also scored four runs, walked four times and did not strike out.
2009- Rebecca was second on the team in batting with a .374 average with 46 hits and 37 runs batted in. She led the team in homeruns with five and triples with four. She was named ASC West Division Newcomer of the Year and Second-Team All-West Division at third base.
2008 Hill JC- Rebecca had a season batting average of .380 with a fielding percentage of .760 at Hill Junior College.
2007 Hill JC- Before transferring to Howard Payne Rebecca played two years with Hill Junior College.
HS- She is a 2006 graduate of Mineral Wells High School where she lettered all four years in softball. Her team went to playoffs her freshmen year. She received a 2nd Team All-District honor.
Personal- Rebecca is a Psychology major and plans to pursue a career in counseling. She is the daughter of Dale McDaniel and Serri Garcia and has two older brothers.
