The American Southwest Conference today announced its women’s basketball players of the week and Howard Payne senior guard Kayla Scott was recognized for her performance.
Howard Payne senior guard Kayla Scott came off the bench to score a career-high 23 points – including four 3-pointers – in just 17 minutes of action to spark an 81-73 conference home win over East Texas Baptist.
Scott, who shot 61.5 percent from the field, added three rebounds, two steals and hit all three of her free-throw attempts. She did not turn the ball over once.Scott scored eight of HPU’s final 11 points over the final 6:30 to distance a five-point game.
