Howard Payne University will hold its Commencement ceremony this Saturday, December 10, at the Brownwood Coliseum beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Dr. Bill Ellis, university president, and other university representatives will confer 81 bachelor’s degrees and one master’s degree. Dr. Rodney McGlothlin, pastor of First Baptist Church of Brownwood, will deliver the charge to the graduates.
Additional program participants include: Corey Ash ’92, director of bands and associate professor of music; Dr. Donnie Auvenshine ’75, dean of the School of Christian Studies and professor of Christian studies; Dr. Celeste Church,
faculty president and associate professor of music; Dr. Dan Crawford ’64, president of the Alumni Association; Dr. Gary Gramling, director of the Graduate Program in Youth Ministry and professor of Christian studies; Brad Helbert ’65, chairman of the Board of Trustees; Dr. Justin Murphy, dean of the School of Humanities, professor of history and director of the Academy of Freedom; Seth Ian Pitman, a member of the graduating class; Dr. Mark Tew, provost and chief academic officer; Lana Wagner ’97, registrar; Dr. Elizabeth Wallace ’71, professor of music; and the HPU Instrumental Ensemble
