The American Southwest Conference announced on Monday, January 26, 2015, Howard Payne guard Danyel Bradley as the women’s basketball player of the week for the third time this season.
Howard Payne junior guard Danyel Bradley scored 45 points on 18-of-24 shooting from the field in the Lady Jackets win at Mary Hardin-Baylor. Bradley was also 8-of-8 from the free-throw line and had three assists and four steals. She scored 22 points two nights earlier at Concordia Texas going 14-of-16 from the line, grabbing six rebounds and dishing out four assists.
Bradley’s performance against UMHB is one of the best in ASC history. Her 45 points rank second in league history and is the first 40-point output since 2009 (Kassandra Bills, Concordia Texas, 44 pts). Bradley also tied the ASC record for most field goals made in a single game (18) becoming one of three players in the ASC to make 18 shots from the perimeter and the first since 2004 (Patrece Carter-Spivey, Louisiana College). It was Bradley’s third ASC player of the week award this season.
