“To be second in the nation in attendance is a tremendous honor,” said head women’s basketball coach Joshua Prock. “Our program would like to think the HPU Community, the people of Brownwood, Early and the surrounding communities for the unbelievable support for the entire year. We greatly appreciate it and look forward to seeing them at our games next year.”

The HPU Lady Jackets averaged 953 at home games this past season to lead the American Southwest Conference and finish second in the NCAA III. Howard Payne, who was the NCAA III attendance champion in 2006-2008, has also been among the leaders for the past six years.

The Lady Jackets finished 22-8 overall and 15-6 in conference play in 2010-2011 winning their fourth ASC championship in the past six years.

Hope College ran away with its third straight attendance title by averaging 1,546 per game, just short of the record 1,549 set by Howard Payne in 2007-08. The rest of the top five were Howard Payne (953), Coe College (790), George Fox University (769) and Wartburg College (740).
