The Howard Payne volleyball team won their last home match of the season 3-0 (25-20,25-22,25-23) over Concordia University Texas Thursday evening.
The match was close all three games with both teams holding leads in each. HPU had a .336 attack pct. to Concordia’s .132 attack pct for the match. Concordia did have five service aces to Howard Payne’s one.
Amanda Gutierrez had 10 kills with no errors for a .526 attack pct. Tamika Heline had 14 kills with a team-high 12 digs.
Amber Cantu-Curry had 20 assists and Sydney Bryant added eight kills.
Concordia was led by Carrie Fisk with 10 kills and Kevyn Jackson with 14 digs.
Howard Payne improves to 10-16 overall and 8-10 in ASC action, while Concordia falls to 9-17overall, 7-11 in ASC play.
Howard Payne will close out the season at the University of Dallas tournament this weekend. They will play Arlington Baptist College, Rust College, and host University of Dallas in the tournament.
