As part of their homecoming festivities, Howard Payne University will be presenting play performances of M is for the Million.

Director Nancy Jo Humfeld said to expect a fun and entertaining play that is based on the old song about M-O-T-H-E-R and all of the great things she does.

“In this instance, the mother is the meddler who manipulates everything,” Humfeld said.

The play is set in the 1970’s on a Greek cruise ship, the Corinthia, which is sailing for Athens.  The characters Brad and Meg plan to be married on the ship by the captain until Meg’s mother arrives to interrupt their plans.

”It is a truly funny show that I think everyone will enjoy,” Humfeld said.  “I know all the lines and I’m still giggling like crazy throughout the show.”

Performances are set for Thursday, Oct. 7th at 7:30, Saturday, October 9th at 7:30, and Sunday, October 10th at 2:30.  There will also be a reserved show on Friday night for those attending Humfeld’s 25th year celebration at HPU.  Tickets are $5.00 for adults, and $4.00 for students and children, and all HPU faculty, staff, and students are free.  Reservations are highly encouraged and may be made by calling 325-649-8516.

Nick Ewen is the technical director and set designer, and Lori Arp is the costume mistress.  Full cast list is below.
