HPU Press Release – Howard Payne University senior Ryan Contreras, of Early, will present a saxophone recital on Friday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. The recital will take place in the choir hall, room 503, of the university’s Davidson Music Complex. The program is free of charge and the public is encouraged to attend.

Contreras will be accompanied by pianist Dean Kiesling in a recital of 20th century compositions for the alto saxophone. Selections include the sonata “Opus 19 for Saxophone and Piano” by American composer Paul Creston and a sonata by the French composer Fernande Decruck.

Contreras is a music education major from the studio of Stephen Goacher, professor of music.

“I know Ryan’s audience will have much to look forward to in this fine presentation,” said Goacher.
