Dr. Bill Ellis, president of Howard Payne University, was recently presented a gift by officers of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
Dr. Steve Vernon, associate executive director of the BGCT, and Dr. Chris Liebrum, director of the BGCT’s education/discipleship center, presented Ellis with a clock in recognition of the close partnership between the organization and the university. The BGCT gave Ellis the gift while on campus for an orientation session for the new members of the HPU Board of Trustees.
“HPU is blessed to be affiliated with the BGCT,” said Dr. Ellis. “I am honored they chose to recognize the university, and I know that we will continue to have a mutually beneficial relationship with each other for many years to come.”

The BGCT is an affiliation of Baptist churches, educational institutions, associations and more, seeking to fulfill God’s mission of reconciling the world to Himself.
