Dr. Bill Ellis, president of Howard Payne University, was elected to the board of the International Association of Baptist Colleges and Universities during an annual business meeting held this summer.
Dr. Ellis was elected to fill a three-year unexpired position through the June 2014 board meeting. Dr. W. Mark Tew, HPU provost and chief academic officer, is also serving a 2009-to-2012 term on the board.
The IABCU is a voluntary organization of 52 colleges, universities and schools that lay claim to their Baptist history, heritage and relationships. It fosters intentional Christian education, while cooperating in the advancement and mutual well-being of each member. Member schools are located in 17 states and two foreign countries.
