The Howard Payne men’s basketball team landed three players on the 2013 American Southwest Conference Men’s Basketball All-Conference and All-Division selections, the ASC office announced on Tuesday (Feb. 26), following a vote of the league’s head coaches.
ASC SECOND TEAM WEST DIVISION
Brandon Gould averaged a team high 16.0 points per game (3rd in the ASC). He was also third in the ASC in assists with 3.8 per game. He scored a career high 31 points at Mary Hardin-Baylor and dished out eight assists in a game twice this season.
ASC WEST DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR/ASC WEST DIVISION FRESHMAN TEAM
Christian Davis was second on the team in scoring at 12.8 per game and second in rebounding at 6.1 per game. Davis scored a season high 21 points versus Concordia Texas and grabbed a season high 13 rebounds versus Texas Lutheran the next week.
ASC WEST DIVISION FRESHMAN TEAM
Donovan Ford averaged 7.3 points per game off the bench for the Yellow Jackets. Ford scored a season high 17 points versus Concordia Texas and shot 41% from behind the arc this year.
