A book sale at Howard Payne University’s Walker Memorial Library raised approximately $1,500. The funds will go toward library modernization efforts and other initiatives.
The sale was hosted by the Walker Memorial Library Friends Group and all items were priced between 50 cents and $2.“We received a great deal of support from the community and we’re very thankful for everyone who came out and purchased books,” said Alexia Riggs, dean of libraries. “We plan to host similar events in the future.”
The remaining items will be donated to Better World Books, an organization that collects and sells books online to fund literacy initiatives worldwide.
