ammonsandscofieldHPU crowed their 2012 homecoming queen and princess during the homecoming convocation Friday afternoon.

Carlee Ammons of Houston (left) and Robin Scofield of Naples, Fla., were crowned Howard Payne University’s Homecoming Queen and Princess during a ceremony held on campus today.  The 2011 HPU homecoming queen, Ciera Culpepper crowned the queen and princess.

Ammons is a senior communication studies major and Scofield is a junior Academy of Freedom student and communication studies major. The pair will be featured in Saturday’s Homecoming Parade and during the halftime show of the HPU football game.

 

The student body selects the court each year by elections coordinated through the Student Government Association.  The emcees of the Homecoming Convocation were Whitney Sirois and Jonathan Dobernecki.  A brief slide show of photos from childhood and while attending Howard Payne University was presented prior to the crowning.  Special music was provided by HPU students Alex Caro and Dustin Campbell.

Other queen nominees included Gayle Erdman and Laura Peisker.  Other princess nominees were Gabi Guerrerro.
