The American Southwest Conference today announced the 2010 ASC football All-Conference teams and Howard Payne University landed seven individuals on the list after a vote of the league’s nine head coaches.
First Team Defense
Cote Schacherl – Punter
Cote led the ASC in punting with 1,978 yards for a 42.1 yard average. He placed 12 inside the 20-yard line and had a long of 63 yards on the year.
Second Team Defense
Dustin McClure – Linebacker
Dustin was fourth in the American Southwest Conference in tackles with 87 total (37 solo). He had 3.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and a blocked kick.
Honorable Mention Offense
Cody Hambrick – Wide receiver
Cody had 58 catches for 679 yards with six touchdowns. He was among the leaders in the ASC in receptions per game and receiving yards per game.

Ben Butler– Offensive guard
Ben started nine of the ten games for the Yellow Jackets and was the consistent leader for the Howard Payne offensive line.

Brandon Young – Returns
Brandon was among the leaders in the ASC in all-purpose yardage. He also led the Jackets in rushing and caught 14 passes for 160 yards. He had two rushing touchdowns and one receiving on the year.

Lorenzo Green – Defensive line
Playing in all ten games for Howard Payne, Lorenzo had 37 tackles (3.5 for loss) with one sack and two fumble recoveries.

Demetrius Cody – Linebacker
Demetrius Cody led the Yellow Jackets in tackles with 91 placing him second overall in the ASC. He had six tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
