Howard Payne University criminal justice students participated in their annual mock crime scene investigation in the front of the university’s Academy of Freedom.
Pictured above is a “dummy” bomb on the floor. Students had to investigate the crime scene and come to the conclusion that a person planned to do harm to the school, but when spotted, took their own life. The students were able to come to this conclusion through detailed evaluation of the crime scene, forensic evidence, and the testimony of witnesses and first responders, explained HPU Criminal Justice Assistant Professor and Chief of HPU’s Department of Public Safety Dr. Paul Lilly.
