Howard Payne University has announced the Homecoming Court for 2010.  The HPU Homecoming queen and princess will be crowned on Friday, October 8, at 2 p.m. during the Homecoming Convocation in Mims Auditorium.

Homecoming princess nominees are Rachael Amy, a junior, with a double major in family studies and Christian education from Lumberton; Angela Haney, a junior, double major in political science and the Douglas MacArthur Academy of Freedom from Denison; and Abby Parmelly, a junior, political science major from Prosper.

Homecoming queen nominees are Stefanie Beckwith, a senior, biblical languages major from Burleson; Jenna Lewis, a senior, mass communications major from Nacona; and Jeffri Malone, a senior, with a double major in Spanish and cross-cultural studies major from Bonham.

During the Convocation ceremony, HPU alumnus singer/songwriter Coffey Anderson will perform. A Bangs native, Anderson currently resides in Los Angeles and just released a self-titled album on September 28. On Friday evening, he will be named one of HPU’s 2010 Outstanding Young Graduates at the university’s Alumni Awards Banquet.

The Homecoming Court will be featured in the parade on Saturday, October 9, beginning at 10 a.m., and in the half-time show of the football game versus Hardin-Simmons University at Gordon Wood Stadium at 2 p.m.

The student body selects the court each year by elections coordinated through the Student Government Association.
