Howard Payne University and the Central Texas Training Coalition will be hosting a seminar entitled Ethics: The Right to Die on Thursday, December 6th from 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Family Services Center located at 901 Avenue B in Brownwood.
Registration for the training is now open, and the cost to attend the seminar is $25. Registration on the day of the event begins at 1:00 p.m. and the class will start at 1:30 p.m.
The Central Texas Training Coalition is an alliance of human service agencies. Its purposes include: providing quality training for area professionals and volunteers; minimizing the cost of training by utilizing local talent; and customizing training to fit the needs of the following agency members.
Thomas W. Starkey, PhD, LCSW is the presenter of the seminar. Dr. Starkey is an Assistant Professor and the Social Work Program Director at Angelo State University with the Departments of Psychology, Sociology, and Social Work. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas. He currently consults with River Crest Hospital and sees patients on the military unit. Dr. Starkey’s professional interests include: Aging/Gerontology, Ethics, Health/Mental Health, Social Work Policy, and Substance Abuse. Dr. Starkey has over thirteen years of experience working in psychiatric and chemical dependency settings.
