A team of Howard Payne University alumni won the Inaugural Sports Hall of Fame Golf Tournament held on May 4th at the Hideout Golf Club on Lake Brownwood.
The four-man scramble team of Will Carrier ’89, C. Norman Tinkler ’75, Andy Gill ’91 and David McCullough ’76 won the Inaugural Sports Hall of Fame Golf Tournament. They shot a tournament best 53 pacing the rest of the field by five strokes.
HPU students Joey Carmack, Kyle Hamlin and Klay Cunningham paired with Joey Kirk to take second place with a 58.
HPU president Bill Ellis, Harold Preston, Eddie Alexander and Ray Bertrand secured third place shooting a 60.
The next HPU Sports Hall of Fame Golf Tournament is tentatively set for May 3rd of 2014.
