Howell Furry, 88, of Grosvenor, TX passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019.
Services for Howell have been set for Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Heartland Funeral Chapel, 303 Early Blvd., Early, TX 76802. Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM followed by the Chapel service at 2:00 PM officiated by David Barnum with interment concluding in the Fairview cemetery, Grosvenor, TX.
Howell Furry was born May, 12, 1930 in Grosvenor, TX to James Turner and Jewel Furry. Howell graduated from Brownwood High School and was drafted into the US Army in February, 1951 and married Mary Beth Davis on August 1, 1951 in Hobbs, NM. Howell spent 3 years in the US Army as a Sgt. First guided missile battalion stationed in El Paso, TX. Mary and Howell spent many years in Andrews, TX with Howell working in the oil and gas industry. He owned and operated Furry Producing Co. Several years ago he bought some land in Grosvenor and moved back home to ranch. Howell enjoyed ranching and spent many days working with his cattle and goats. Howell was in love with the oil & gas business and ranching, he loved to work. He also loved western movies, football and his family.
Howell is survived by 2 sons, Michael and wife Joy Furry, Brad and Penelope Furry of Coppell, TX; daughter, Marihelen Bremerman of Grosvenor, TX; sister, Dixie White; 5 grandchildren, Lynn & Logan Bremerman, Bradley, Michael & Jared Furry; 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews & friends.
Howell was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Furry; brothers, Merle & Wayne Furry; sisters, Ruth Kessee & Dorothy Hammond.
