RuddickHowardHoward R. Ruddick, 79, was born January 14, 1932 in Westbrook, Texas, the third son born of Isaac Ruddick and Dollie Morris Ruddick.  When he was a young a child his family relocated to Fort Worth, Texas where they made their new home.  Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico.  While serving in the Air Force he began his training in electronics.  His background in electronics allowed him many choices as he worked in numerous government agencies.  The last twenty years of his career were spent in Quality Control in the Missiles and Space Division at LTV in Dallas, Texas as a NAVPRO representative.  On March 28, 1975, Howard and Sherry Dismuke were married in Hurst, Texas.  They made their home in Arlington, Texas.  In 1989, Howard retired from his government job and enjoyed some traveling and spending time with his family.  They moved to San Saba where they have enjoyed serving in the San Saba County Volunteer EMS and worked for several years in the funeral business.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Ruddick of San Saba; his daughter, Debbie Engebretsen and her children, Rhiannon and Ashton of Aubrey, Texas; one nephew, Larry P. Ruddick of Aledo, Texas; and one niece, Carolyn Hopkins of Fort Worth, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 9, 2012, at 2:00 PM, at San Saba’s First Baptist Church, with Rev. Sam Crosby officiating.  Interment will follow at the San Saba Cemetery.  The family requests that memorials be made to the San Saba Cemetery, P.O. Box. 154, San Saba, Texas 76877.
