Howard Payne University’s Convocation was held last week in the university’s Mims Auditorium. Dr. Les Hollon, senior pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio, addressed new and returning HPU students, faculty and staff on “Winning God’s Way.” University Convocation marks the first chapel service of the 2011-12 academic year. Faculty and various administrators donned academic regalia for the service.

, provost and chief academic officer; Dr. Celeste Church, faculty assembly president and associate professor of music; Jacob Aschmutat, Student Government Association vice president; Julia Hironaga, 2011-12 HPU Presser Scholar; Kaitlyn Zachary, 2010-11 HPU Presser Scholar; and Lynn Humeniuk, associate professor of sociology.
