Howard Payne University’s Homecoming celebration is in full swing, and one highlight that alumni look forward to each year is the Homecoming Parade. The parade started at the Brownwood Coliseum, traveled through downtown Brownwood, and came through Howard Payne campus in front of hundreds of spectators.
The parade featured many of this year’s homecoming honorees, HPU marching band, and several very creative floats from campus organizations. There was also a great performance by Seal Gymnastics on their float and on Fisk Street near the end of the parade.
This year’s homecoming theme is “New Places, Familiar Faces” with a total of approximately 40 events being held throughout the weekend.
The Homecoming performance for the weekend is the play M is for the Million which will be performed on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the HPU Theatre. A final performance is scheduled to begin on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets for the play can be reserved by calling the HPU box office at 325-649-8516. Tickets are $5 adults and $4 for students.
