Funeral services for Howard Harold Musick , 85, of Early will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Heartland Funeral Home with Brother Jimmie Mize officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday, May 18, at Heartland Funeral Home.
Howard passed away on May 16, 2012 in Brownwood, Texas. He was born October 24, 1926 in Lawn, Texas, son of the late Henry Musick and Sadie Brown Musick. Howard was a member of Salt Creek Baptist Church where he first attended as a child. As a young man, he was called to serve in the army during World War II and felt proud to serve his country. Howard worked for over twenty five years as a welder and in construction. Later, he worked as a self employed building contractor.
Howard enjoyed life. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, sports, friends, and most of all spending time with family. Howard was a loving and devoted husband to his surviving wife, Melba Ruth Fuller Musick for sixty three years, married on December 25, 1948. He was a much loved and respected father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his daughter, Diann Musick Wilcox and husband, Dan Wilcox of Hillsboro, Texas, a son, Paul Howard Musick and wife, Cindy Musick of Early, four grandchildren, Dangela Wilcox Hill and husband, James Hill of Dallas, Derek Wilcox of Dallas, Meagan Musick Panther and husband, William Panther of Forreston, Texas, and Matthew Musick of Early, four great granddaughters, Molly, Piper, and Tatum Hill of Dallas, and Ashlyn Panther of Forreston. Howard had one surviving brother, Albert Jody of Blanket.
Howard was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Earl, Troy Winfred, and Audry V., and a sister, Dorothy Marie Musick Lynn.
