December 2nd
* Christmas Under the Stars Festival – The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and Brownwood Regional Medical Center present the 8th Annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival Friday December 2nd and Saturday December 3rd from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Depot Plaza Complex and the Lehnis Railroad Museum.
* The HPU Heritage Singers will present their annual service of nine lessons and carols this Friday at St. John Episcopal from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend.
December 3rd
* Christmas Under the Stars Festival continues from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Depot Plaza Complex and the Lehnis Railroad Museum.
* Pictures with Santa – Bring the kids to come see Santa at the Brown County Museum of History – Saturday, December 3rd from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For only $5 you will leave with a candy-cane framed picture of your child, a small gift, plus access to the Children’s area, general museum exhibits and a tour of the Old Jail.
December 4th
* The Chatfield Assisted Living facility will host their annual Holiday Open House, kicking off their Tour of Trees. The open house event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. with a dessert bar and holiday beverages. The community is welcomed to attend, with no cost for admission.
* The Lyric Theater will present a Christmas Dance Recital on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The story of Christ’s birth will be told through dance. Tickets are $5 per person.
* Howard Payne University’s Pre-College Music and Art program will host its 22nd annual “Christmas at Heartland Mall” celebration on Sunday, December 4, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Heartland Mall in Early. The event will be located at the main mall entrance near Sears.
* The Music Ministry of First Baptist Church Brownwood will present its annual Christmas concert featuring music performed by the FBC Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra, beginning at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.
December 6th
* The Heart of Texas Baptist Camp will present a Christmas Dinner Theatre beginning at 6:30 p.m. The evening will feature ‘The Christmas Night Show, with Conny Jarson’ written and directed by HPU Assistant Director of Theatre, Nick Ewen. Seating is limited, and guests are asked to register early by visiting www.heartoftexascamp.com or calling 325-784-5821. The camp is requesting a $20 donation per adult for this event.
December 8th
* The Lyric Theater presents “Christmas Belles” beginning December 8th though December 18th. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students. A small Texas town experiences a hilarious holiday journey through a misadventure-filled Christmas Eve. * The 5th Annual MOPS Market will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Adams Street Community Center, 511 E. Adams Street in Brownwood. There is a $3 entry fee for the market. The market will have food vendors, home decor, clothing and accessories, health and beauty products. This event is a fundraiser to benefit both Coggin Avenue Baptist MOPS and The Pregnancy Care Center.
* The BHS Lion Varsity Players will present “The Polar Express” December 8th through December 11th at the Dorothy McIntosh Fine Arts Center inside the high school. Tickets are $5 at the door. For more information, see their Facebook Event Page.
December 10th
* The Bangs Christmas Parade will be December 10th at 6 p.m. Lineup will be at 5:30 p.m. on Gantt St. Everyone is invited to take part in the parade. There is no entry fee. At the conclusion of the parade, there will be drinks and snacks, photos with Santa and a special presentation by Bangs FBC at Bangs City Park. For more information, call 325-200-1276.
December 11th
The Bereaved Parents Support Group offers Support through the holiday season by placing two 9ft Christmas Trees inside Heartland Mall, in Early, on November 15th and have decorated them with memorial ornaments to honor children and loved ones who have died. The trees are in front of JC Penney inside Heartland Mall. These trees will be the site for the Annual Candlelight Memorial Service on Sunday, December 11, at 6:30 p.m. and will remain there throughout the holiday season until December 27th. December 13th
*Handel’s Messiah will be performed at the First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 13th beginning at 8 p.m. There is no cost to attend.
* The Brownwood High School and Middle School choirs will present a “Candles of Christmas” concert from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Dorothy McIntosh Fine Arts Center inside the high school. There is no cost to attend.
December 15th
*Chick-fil-a inside Heartland Mall in Early will be having a holiday craft night. Attendees will be provided with a Chick-fil-A dinner, a prepared 16″ x 18″ wooden blank, a stencil with your chosen design, and all of the supplies and instructions necessary to complete the project. December 17th
* Toys for Kids distribution – Parents will need to have registered during hours of 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from October 1st through December 14th for their child to receive toys on Saturday, December 17th. Parents can come to the warehouse at an assigned time and with the help of an elf, pick out toys for their children. The toys can then be wrapped by one of the many Santa’s helpers.
* The “Steel Magnolias” will present a Christmas Celebration concert beginning at 12:45 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church located at 1219 Indian Creek in Brownwood. There is no cost to attend.
