Brown County Commissioners held a special meeting Thursday morning approving the hire of a new assistant attorney in the District Attorney’s office.
According to DA, Micheal Murray, current Assistant District Attorneys, Tommy Adams will be leaving the DA’s office in order to go into private practice. The commissioners’ court approved the hire of Bruce Hoffer as Adams’ replacement who currently practices law in Beaumont, Texas.
Hoffer will be hired at the starting assistant attorney salary and will begin his employment in a couple of weeks according to Murray, between June 15-21, as Hoffer finalizes details of “wrapping up his practice.”
Hoffer is a graduate of the University of Texas, attended Southern Methodist University Law School and Suffolk University Law School, Boston, Massachusetts. He has been practicing law since 1985, has taught classes at Lamar University, and is Board Certified in his specialization of criminal law.
