Thursday, May 3, 2012 proved to be a very special day for Elsie Hobbs of Rising Star, Texas as she was attending her regular “senior’s dance” in Early, Texas, at Traveler’s.
One by one, unexpected relatives approached Ms. Hobbs while she was already dancing, and “cut-in” by tapping the gentleman on the shoulder. The expression on her face said it all. Her children had pulled it off – a complete surprise! Ms. Hobbs’ actual birthday was Saturday, May 5th (Cinco de Mayo) so that helped her family keep the secret until time to show up. Family members as far as Houston and Austin drove in to make the day especially memorable for her.
This marked Ms. Hobbs’ 85th birthday, and the family thought it was worth commemorating. Thanks to everyone (especially Becky from Traveler’s) for helping to make everything come off smoothly!
