Hilario (Eli) Duarte Aguirre was born March 3, 1919, in Melvin, Texas. His father Rafael and son Alonzo Wayne opened the gates of heaven and welcomed our father home on June 26, 2011. He was the faithful husband of Petra for 70 years and devoted father to their children, Angelica Hernandez, Anna Jones, Asterida Aguirre, Alesia Jones, the late Alonzo Wayne Aguirre, Alexandra Laing, Aline Hollingsworth, Alva Aguirre-Farmer, Amanda Brunson, Arnulfo Ray Aguirre, Agoberto Donnell Aguirre, and Amadello Joe Aguirre.
He and Petra were married September 22, 1940, in Melvin, Texas. Hilario was retired from Brownwood ISD and Superior Essex. The couple has lived in Brownwood since 1953. He made many friends throughout the years.
His 30 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren were the light of his life. Hilario was a good and faithful servant of the Lord. His presence in our lives will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends and family at Davis Morris Funeral Home. Rosary will be on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 7:00pm. Services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Saint Mary Queen of Peace, 1103 Main Avenue. Interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery, Brownwood, Texas.
