Brownwood News – Hendrick Health System will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its new medical office building in Brownwood, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. Hendrick Medical Plaza will be located adjacent to Hendrick Surgery Center.
The 20,500 square-foot building will include multiple physician offices, radiological services (X-ray and ultrasound), physical therapy services, a laboratory draw station and a classroom for educational purposes. Hendrick Medical Supply also serves the area, and will occupy space in the new facility. A walkway will join the surgery center with the medical plaza.
Initially, 18 employees will be hired to work in the new facility, with a potential increase to 34 employees. Additional land has been purchased by Hendrick Health System around the surgery center and medical plaza for possible future medical development.
Construction costs for the new building are estimated at $6.5 million. The completion date of the new facility is tentatively scheduled for January 2019.
