Funeral services for Helen Roberts, age 88, of Brookesmith, will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 24, 2013 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Wells and David Barnum officiating. Burial will follow in the Trickham Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00.
Ms. Roberts died Friday, June 21, 2013 in Brownwood.
Helen Marie Richardson Roberts was born on October 13, 1924 in Brown County to Johnnie and Lillie (Huggins) Richardson. She attended and graduated from Brookesmith schools. She married Charles Roberts on August 16, 1947 in Brownwood. Helen worked in food service for Brookesmith schools for fifteen years where she was famous for her hot rolls. She was a longtime and faithful member of Brookesmith Baptist Church.Helen is survived by her children, Pattie Boenicke and husband Willie of Brookesmith, and Jerry Roberts and wife Vicki of Winchell; two grandsons, Kevin Roberts and wife Robin of Winchell and Ryan Boenicke and wife Charla of Brookesmith, a granddaughter, Lyn Wolff of San Antonio; two great-grandchildren Taylor and Dillon of San Antonio; two sisters, Nelda Rothwell of Lake Brownwood and Judy Pederson of Bangs; a brother, Bill Richardson and wife Charlsie of Cross Cut; two sisters-in-law, Verta Curry of Brownwood and Carnell Rinkenberger and husband Rick of Oklahoma; brother-in-law, R. D. Trowbridge, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles in 2002, a brother Johnny Richardson, a sister, Patsy Traweek, and a niece Terri Wiley.
