HelenGrahamHelen Louise Peirson Graham of Pampa went into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ August 9, 2010, in Amarillo, TX.  Graveside services will be held Friday, August 13, 2010, at 10:00am in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, with Tracy Ebarb, of Union Presbyterian Church, officiating.  Arrangements were made through Davis Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood.

Mrs. Graham was born September 1, 1917, in Electra, Texas to Frederick Cleveland and Kate Ralston Peirson.  The Peirson family occupied the same home in Brownwood for 75 years and Helen, as well as her siblings, graduated from Brownwood High School.  She married Vernon Yule Graham on September 25, 1937 in Brownwood, Texas.

Helen, the wife of a teacher/administrator, worked without pay as a school secretary in Sierra Blanca, Estelline, and Woodson schools.  The Grahams then moved to Graham, Texas, where Helen worked at Graham High School from 1957 to 1961.  A teaching position for Vernon at Pampa High School brought them to the Texas panhandle.  Helen went to work for Bruce and Sons Moving Company, and was President of the local chapter of American Business Women’s Association when she received the Woman of the Year award in 1967.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as three sisters, Mary Jane McClung, Betty Jo Allgood, and Dorothy Jean Brogdon, and two brothers, Jack Leroy Peirson and Fred Laverne Peirson.

Memories of Helen will live on in her daughters, Cherry Alexander and husband Alvin of Pampa, and Peggy Kautzky and husband Dan of Sevierville, Tennessee, 5 grandchildren, Terri Alexander Powell and husband Edward of Amarillo, Eric Kautzky and wife Lisa of Murfreesboro, TN, Steve Alexander and wife Vigdis of Pampa, Jennifer Kautzky Medlock and husband Jeff of Queen Creek, Arizona, and Dave Alexander and wife Kathy of Warsaw, Missouri, 14 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Bill Peirson of Brownwood and Hank Peirson of Nevada.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Texan Nursing and Rehab and BSA Hospice in Amarillo for the loving care they provided.
