Entombment for Helen Cavanaugh, age 86 of Brownwood, formerly of New Port Richey Florida, will take place in the Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in New Port Richey, Florida on Sautrday, May 22, 2010 under the direction of North Meadowlawn Funeral Home. Local arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cavanaugh died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 in a local nursing facility. She was born on October 22, 1923 in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania to William and Genevieve (Furman) Connell. Helen married James Joseph Cavanaugh, Jr. on November 24, 1945 in Nicholson, PA. She was housewife and a Presbyterian. She had been a resident of Brownwood since 1997, moving from New Port Richey, Florida.
Helen is survived by her two sons, Jim Cavanaugh and wife Kitty of Bangs, and Bill Cavanaugh and wife Starlett of The Woodlands, TX, four grandchildren, Lynette Fitzpatrick of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Christy Arena of Jupiter, FL, Cliff Cavanaugh of The Woodlands, TX, and Tanya Persky of Montgomery, TX; and four great-grandchildren.
She was prceded in death by her parents and by her husband in 1998.
