Heartland Mall opened its doors in October of 1980.  Many changes have taken place since that time, and the mall looks much different than it did back then.   In just the last 10 years, the mall has seen the addition of Hollywood Theatres with a $5 million dollar renovation, a new stucco facade with a more updated exterior look, and the addition of Ranger College just to name a few.

To celebrate their 30th birthday, Heartland Mall held a grand celebration on Saturday with the premier of the “Center of it All”, implementation of quick response codes, and prizes for those in attendance.

The “Center of it All” display is a giant mosaic print of photos from around the area representing local organizations and activities such Early & Brownwood schools, Brown County Rodeo, football, golf, Howard Payne University, Lake Brownwood, local museums, plays, and much more.

During the event, the mall also implemented the use of QR (quick response) codes that were placed around the common area.  These codes could be scanned by smart phones with QR scanning apps where prizes like movie passes and t-shirts could be won.

There were plenty of other prizes as well include three $300 Heartland Mall shopping sprees that were won by spinning a prize wheel.  Mason McDonald, Juanita Cox, and April Conway were the lucky winners of these great prizes.  There were also dozens of other gift certificates and prizes won during the celebration.

Congratulations to Heartland Mall on 30 years of business.
