Two people died and one was injured in a two vehicle head-on crash occurring Wednesday at 10:06 a.m., in Eastland County on US Highway 183 near mile post 334.
71-year-old Harry B. Garvin and 53-year-old Peter Simas both from Cisco were the killed as a result of the crash according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. 55-year-old Russell D. Brown of Cisco was taken to Hendrick Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition with blunt trauma. The DPS reports that all parties were wearing their seatbelts.
According to information released by Senior Trooper Sparkey Dean of the Texas DPS, a 2009 Chevy Impala driven by Garvin was traveling south on US 183. A 1989 GMC Pickup pulling a trailer was traveling north on the same highway which was driven by Brown with Simas as a passenger. The pickup traveled across the highway, into the path of the Impala. The vehicles collided head-on.
