Hazel L. Campbell, 73 of Brownwood went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Skaggs officiating. Burial will be private.
Hazel was born on August 21, 1939, in Loraine, Texas to Laymon D. and Lucy Bell Vines. She married Delano “Sonny” Campbell on April 19, 1957 and they came to Brownwood in 1982. Hazel retired after 16 years at Brownwood Middle School where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of Coggin Ave Baptist Church who enjoyed sewing, crochet, embroidery, doing puzzles and reading Danielle Steel novels.
Hazel is survived by her husband, Delano “Sonny” Campbell; children, Karen VanderHill and husband Bryan, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Teresa Parvin and husband Rickey, of Brownwood and Sherry McInturf and her partner Clarence of Cypress, Texas; brother, Bill Vines and wife Mary of Gainesville, Texas; sister, Mary Clements of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, David, James, Reagan, Kelsey, K.C. and great granddaughter, Olivia.
